UET Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunhkhwa Oil and Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL) joined hands to conduct joint energy research in future. This was decided in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony held at UET Peshawar. Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar Engr. Imtiaz H Gilani and Chief Executive Officer KPOGCL, Engr. Raziuddin signed the MoU for joint research in the field of energy. The research will be carried out by the faculty members and students of U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy.

Major initiatives to be carried out under the MoU include KPOGCL and UET Peshawar’s joint strategy to involve high end oil and gas geo-laboratory and prominent service companies; establishing state-of-the-art hydrocarbon laboratory at USAPCAS-E at its own cost and technical support to the students of USPCAS-E for research and internship opportunities in industry .

VC UET Peshawar and CEO KPOGCL stated this MoU will lead a landmark to improve energy governance and management in the province. In the MoU signing ceremony, Dr. Najeeb Ullah Director USPCAS-E, Arshad Nafees, Deputy Director and Ahmad Sohail, Technical Advisor Arizona State University, (ASU), Dean Faculty of Engineering UET Peshawar Prof. Dr. Noor Mohammad, senior faculty members of USPCAS-E and others attended the ceremony.
